studio, sweet studio

i've always wondered what to do about my studio color wise. i want color, but white walls give the best light and a neutral floor is good because i tend to work with my canvases either balanced flat on two stools or directly on the floor. white and brown/grey are SO BORING though. i like this whole paint the ceiling a fun color thing. maybe when we don't have 14' ceilings i'll do it.

fairy dream hair

why is it such and issue with people to have hair like this? if it's fine and desirable for my mom to dye her greys or brunettes to go bottle blonde, girls to wear lipstick and nail polish, then what's the big deal with putting cotton candy pinks or pale crocus purples in your hair?

i bet she couldn't get a decent job with that hair and that's such a weird reason. imagine if bottle blondes couldn't get jobs because they had false hair color? it's almost like you're more likely to get a good job if you're blonde, people assume they're nicer than brunettes.

there are plenty of good reasons to have cats, but i'm going to go ahead and take the liberty of saying this is probably one of the best. when i put my puppy in his sweater he doesn't amuse me as much as this... and he is pretty damn amusing.

snow in the spring is like christmas, only kind of shitty... not unlike seeing the krampus.

nice weather = bikes. i can't wait to see the weird not really serious but overly ambitious people trying it again this spring only to look ridiculous, pale and fat on their schwinn hybrids that are way too small for them. it's almost as amusing as the first wave of translucent legs and mini skirts the college girls always subject us to those first few warm days.

i've been eyeballing these guys for a bit and though they are WAY too much money... it's nice to at least look at beautiful things. the color combos are pretty rad. my favorite part about them? now looking at them it's picnic blankets that come to mind, not freezing huddled under them inside. i LOVE springtime!

i have wanted a demin jacket since i was in third grade and discovered my uncle's from when he was young in our closet. it was ratty but totally cool. it was also huge, but i wore it around anyways a few times in middle school... i felt way cooler than i should have. i wanted my own but they were always really expensive or ridiculously embellished and they didn't really seem like they'd be warm, so it wasn't wicked high on my "things to spend money on" once i got a job in high school, that was mostly blue mascara or a new purple discman money. that didn't stop me from checking out every single one i saw when i'd go to the mall though.

i never really stopped looking, but it wasn't like i was feverishly hunting for one either. well, today i went to savers and scoped out the girls section as usual and found THE ONE. i'm so excited! it's perfect! but it's also like the end of an era, now what do i have to look for? i've been wanting the perfect denim jacket for basically my whole life! if my third grade self could see the day she was dreaming of when she got her very own girls size 5 levis jacket i'm pretty sure she'd think i totally sucked for taking this long to find it and laugh at me.
